Watching From Above

Do you remember when you were little and the coolest thing to do was climb a tree? This may be a weird way to start a post, but here I am in a tree. And I think I am beginning to understand why I always climbed trees.
When you were young, everyone always looked down on you and most of the time were very protective. It may have been a small act of rebellion. Where you felt bigger then them. Also if you had older siblings that were going through their teenage phase, and you couldn't stand the fighting between your parents and them; a tree was a place of peace and escape.
I, myself, am very much an introverted person. I need time away from people so I can be alone with my thoughts. To ponder the mysteries of the world, future, and be able to escape the fast paced way of the world. Also I was raised in a household where everyone was a firm believer in God. I was taught how God created everything. I found it hard to connect with God when I was in church or reading my bible in my house. But when I went outside and saw the sunsets, birds, colors of nature, and trees meant to be climbed, I understood the majesty of God.
So to me, climbing trees is more then a childhood adventure, it is my sanctuary.
